We all love a good smoothie, so how do you take that UP a notch? With a smoothie bowl of course! It's like if a smoothie and acai bowl got married and had a child what would you get? A smoothie bowl! The best thing about smoothie bowls is you can get A LOT of nutrients, antioxidants, and superfoods from having one. So here's what you will need to create your very own:
A Liquid- Like Coconut water, almond or cashew milk
2-3 Fruits- Like strawberries, pineapple, berries, mango, or bananas
Frozen Bananas- Use 2 for each bowl you make. This will give it a good, spoon-friendly consistency without watering down the taste.
Greens- Like spinach or kale
Something Sweet- 1-2 dates or a Stevia packet
Superfoods- Like maca powder, cacao powder, acai powder, and chia or flax seeds. Pick two! A great company to get these from is Navitas Naturals, found at health stores or check them out online!
Now blend your smoothie up, add it to a bowl and top with the following (choose 4-6):
Cacao nibs, unsweetened coconut shreds, more fruit, flax or chia seeds, nuts and seeds like walnuts, almonds, sunflower or pumpkin seeds, goji berries, almond or peanut butter, or homemade granola.
